The California Water and The California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum will held its 30th Annual Meeting from Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Lake Natoma Inn (Venue) in Folsom, California.

2023 CWEMF Annual Meeting

The California Water and The California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum held its 29th Annual Meeting from Monday, April 17 through Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Lake Natoma Inn (Venue) in Folsom, California.

Program

Highlights of the 2023 CWEMF Annual Meeting include:

  • NEW!!! Three (3) concurrent technical sessions will be held.
  • The annual Awards Ceremony will be held immediately following lunch on Monday April 17.
  • The keynote address will be given immediately following lunch on Tuesday April 18. This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Greg Gartrell, an adjunct fellow at the PPIC Water Policy Center.
  • A social and annual business meeting will be held at The Cliff House of Folsom (with light dinner provided) on the evening of Monday April 17.
  • A poster session will be held on Tuesday April 18. The posters will be displayed throughout the day. Beverages and a light dinner will be provided at the end of the day to allow attendees to chat with the poster presenters. The instructions for the poster session are posted here.
  • Boxed lunches will be provided on Monday April 17 and Tuesday April 18 if you register by Friday March 31. 

COVID-19 Precautions 

 The majority of sessions will be held in the two largest conference rooms available at the Venue to allow for social distancing. We ask that attendees abide by all health and safety guidelines promulgated by federal, state, and local government agencies and officials, CWEMF, and Venue. Nevertheless, event attendance may give rise to an increased risk of contracting COVID-19. Although the safety of event attendees is our highest priority, CWEMF cannot guarantee that attendees will not become infected as a result of their participation. 

Registration

 To register for the CWEMF 2023 Annual Meeting, please complete the Registration Form. Payment can be made through PayPal (button below) or by mailing a check to the CWEMF address on the registration form. Early bird rates apply through March 31, 2023. Discounted rates are available to those in the following individual membership categories: “Non-Profit/NGO”, “Academic Postdoc”, “Senior” and “Student”. All session moderators and speakers are required to register for the meeting. 

 Please note: If you register online for the 1-Day option, please send an email with the subject “CWEMF 1- Day Option” to CWEMF’s Executive Director, Paul Hutton at paul.hutton@tetratech.com. In this email, please indicate which day you plan to attend (i.e., Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday). This information is necessary for our refreshment, lunch and social planning. Thank you!

Refund Policy

In recognition of ongoing public health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, full refunds of 2023 CWEMF Annual Meeting fees will be offered to registrants who i) do not attend the meeting due to a COVID-19 related reason and ii) submit a written request within 14 days following the conclusion of the meeting (i.e., May 3, 2023). Please submit written requests to Paul Hutton, CWEMF Executive Director, at paul.hutton@tetratech.com. In your written request, please acknowledge that you were unable to attend the 2023 CWEMF Annual Meeting due to a COVID-related concern. Finally, please note that 2023 CWEMF membership dues WILL NOT be refunded. 

Lodging

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Lake Natoma Inn for $95 per night. If you wish to stay at the Lake Natoma Inn, please make your reservations with the Hotel by clicking here. Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance because the CWEMF block of rooms will be released to others on March 31.

Professional Development Hours

Your attendance at the 29th Annual Meeting will entitle you to earn up to 20 Professional Development Hour (PDH) units, which many licensure and certification agencies require to demonstrate continuing professional competency. In general, one PDH is equal to one full hour of attendance. Reporting is done on an honor basis where attendees maintain their own records and email to CWEMF the number of hours in attendance. 

Getting to Folsom

There is plenty of parking at the Lake Natoma Inn and nearby parking garage; however, if you would like to take light rail, the Historic Folsom Light Rail station is just a five minute walk from the Lake Natoma Inn.
