The California Water and Environmental Modeling Forum will hold its 20th Annual Meeting from Monday, February 24 through Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, California.  We will hclearpixelave a joint plenary session with the Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) on February 26.


Theme and Program

The theme of the 2014 Annual Meeting is “20 Years of Supporting the California Water Community” and the program includes:

    • Sessions on a wide variety of topics
       
    • Joint plenary session with IEP on February 26
       
    • Keynote Speech presented by Gary Bardini during lunch on February 24
       
    • Presentation of the CWEMF awards during the evening social on February 24
       
    • Evening social at Sudwerk Riverside Restaurant and Brewhouse (with light dinner provided) on February 25
       
    • Poster session - The poster session will be one of the highlights of the program on Tuesday, February 25.  Extra time will be allocated for lunch to allow everyone to chat with the poster presenters and the posters will be displayed throughout the day.  Instructions for the poster session are posted here.
       
    • Annual Business Meeting with discussion of proposed changes to CWEMF Bylaws
       
    • Lunch provided on February 24 and 25 if you register by February 7.

Registration

To register for the 2014 CWEMF Annual Meeting, please click the REGISTER NOW button.  You may also register by mail by completing the Registration Formclearpixelclearpixelpdf01 and mailing it and the appropriate fee to the CWEMF.

Lodging

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Lake Natoma Inn for $84 per night.clearpixel  If you wish to stay at the Lake Natoma Inn, make your reservations with the Hotel by clicking here. clearpixel Please make your reservations at least two weeks in advance because the CWEMF block of rooms will be released to others on February 10.

Students Free

The 2014 CWEMF Annual Meeting is free for students giving presentations, presenting posters, or giving a pop-up talk (a $400 value) after signing up for a student membership ($10). clearpixel Students will also be asked to assist with various duties, including setting up poster boards, helping with registration, and providing assistance to CWEMF’s Executive Director as needed.  clearpixelIn addition, CWEMF is offering $60 student lodging scholarships for students attending universities that are located more than 50 miles from Folsom (this does not include UC Davis or CSUS). clearpixel The lodging scholarship can be used to stay at the Sacramento Youth Hostel (@ 10th and H Street in downtown Sacramento) or it can be used to partially offset the cost of staying at a motel or hotel in Folsom. clearpixel clearpixelPlease note that the scholarship is a total of $60; not $60 per night. clearpixel Students applying for the lodging scholarship should make the appropriate annotation on the registration form.

Professional Development Hours

Your attendance at the 20th Annual Meeting will entitle you to earn up to 20 Professional Development Hour (PDH) units, which many licensure and certification agencies require to demonstrate continuing professional competency. clearpixel In general, one PDH is equal to one full hour of attendance. clearpixel clearpixelReporting is done on an honor basis where attendees maintain their own records and email to CWEMF the number of hours in attendance.

Getting to Folsom

There is plenty of parking at the Lake Natoma Inn and nearby parking garage; however, if you would like to take light rail, the Historic Folsom Light Rail station is just a five minute walk from the Lake Natoma Inn.
